We ran the TCS London Mini Marathon 2026!

This year, we have been working with the London Marathon Events in order to bring the excitement of the London Marathon and the benefits of running to our pupils. 

BPET Sports Champion, Jack Briley, worked closely with the London Mini Marathon Engagement Lead, Frances White, who provided all support needed.

Watling Park School headed to The Mall on Sat 25 April to run 2.6K together with Mrs Haynes the Headteacher, who joined in the race!

After the warm up on Horse Guards Parade, the pupils headed for their circuit around St James Park and crossing the finishing line on The Mall amongst cheering, clapping and encouragement. Every child left the race feeling inspired and enthusiastic, having gone through this great event with their school mates. 

“The route was super great: we ran around St James’ park, past Buckingham Palace ( the King wasn't at home) and along the Mall past the grandstands. It was the last mile of the actual London Marathon so we ran through the actual finish line, under the clock to complete the race. It was an exciting occasion and the run was fantastic! So lovely to take part with my school and family.”- Daniel Year 6, whose mum completed the full course the following day for the Love Oliver charity.
