We are delighted to share with you the fantastic news that the Department for Education has today given Barnet Free Primary School the go-ahead to enter the ‘pre-opening phase’. This is the first milestone in the journey to a successful opening in September 2015 as it means that we are now able to progress our plans to make our vision a reality.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘thank you’ for supporting our application. We would also like to thank all parents who registered an interest in sending their children to the school. We are already planning our Open Events and we look forward to meeting many of you at these in the near future and working together to create an excellent primary school that fits the needs of its local community.

Our school has been named Watling Park School which reflects the proposed locality. A suitable site has already been found in this area of Burnt Oak and we are working closely with the Department for Education and Education Funding Agency to secure this site as soon as possible. We will let you know as soon as we are in a position to share any further news.

While there is a great deal of work still to be done, our team has significant experience in opening and running schools and we look forward to the challenges and exciting times that lie ahead. If you are interested in getting involved in the creation of Watling Park School, we’d love to hear from you. Please email your details to info@watlingparkschool.org.uk.

Whether you are considering sending your child(ren) to Watling Park School or would simply like to be kept informed about the progress of the school, please sign up here to receive our forthcoming e-newsletter. Please spread the word!

Thanks again to everyone who has got us to this point – we’re over the moon!
